The Bismarck/Burleigh Outdoor Warning System (sirens) has been experiencing technical issues. In order to ensure proper function, the sirens will be tested every Friday at 9:30 AM until we’re confident the issues have been resolved. Notice will be provided when we return to our monthly testing on the last Friday of every month at 9:30 AM.
The outdoor warning system is utilized for tornado warnings or any other emergency event such as a hazardous materials incident. The sirens are intended to be heard when you are outside. When you hear the sirens and it’s a not a test day, your next step should but accessing media to find out why they are sounding and to receive instruction from local officials on actions to keep you safe.
