Applications Sought for Renaissance Zone Authority/Downtown Design Review Committee 

 

Bismarck Mayor Steve Bakken is looking for candidates interested in serving on the Bismarck Renaissance Zone Authority/Downtown Design Review Committee.  The volunteer committee has two open positions, which are 3-year terms, starting in January 2020. Anyone residing in the City of Bismarck is eligible for these appointments.


Interested applicants should complete an application form describing their qualifications, background and why they would like to serve on the Authority/Committee.

Forms can be mailed or may be picked up at the department office at 221 N 5th Street, Bismarck.  Additional information on the positions and the appointment process can also be obtained by contacting the Community Development Department at (701) 355-1840.


The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Friday, December 27th. It is anticipated that the new Authority/Committee members will be announced at the January 14th meeting of the Board of City Commissioners.


The Renaissance Zone Authority/Downtown Design Review Committee is a seven member advisory board that makes recommendations on requests for designation as a Renaissance Zone project and also administers Downtown Design Review and other activities impacting the core of the community. 


The Renaissance Zone Authority meets the second Thursday of every month at 4:00 p.m. in the City-County Building, 221 N 5th Street, Bismarck.
