Bismarck Mayor Steve Bakken is looking for candidates interested in serving on the Historic Preservation Commission. The volunteer committee has two open positions for terms through March 2024. Anyone residing in the City of Bismarck is eligible for this appointment.
Interested applicants should complete an application form describing their qualifications, background and why they would like to serve on the Commission.

The deadline for applications is Thursday, March 12, 2020. It is anticipated that the new board member will be announced at the March 24, 2020, Board of City Commissioners’ meeting.
The Historic Preservation Commission is a seven-member advisory board that carries out matters related to the Historic Preservation Ordinance of the City of Bismarck. The Historic Preservation Commission’s responsibilities include advising on matters related to nominations to the National Register of Historic Places, working to promote and educate about the City’s history, heritage, historic properties and past citizens and serving as local historic resource for citizens and other City Boards/Commission seeking historic expertise.
The Historic Preservation Commission board meets the third Wednesday of every month at 3:30 p.m. in the City-County Office Building, 221 N 5th Street, Bismarck.
