[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Parking Authority seeking interested candidates

Bismarck Mayor Steve Bakken is looking for a candidate interested in serving on the Bismarck Parking Authority. The volunteer committee has one open position.  The position is a new term through March 2025.  The candidate must own property within the Downtown Parking District. A map of this area is included in the application.


Interested applicants should complete an application form describing their qualifications, background and why they would like to serve on the Authority. Complete applications should be sent to:

Forms can also be mailed by calling the Community Development Department at (701) 355-1840 or may be picked up at the department office at 221 N 5th Street, Bismarck.  Additional information on the position and the appointment process can also be obtained by contacting the department office.


The deadline for applications is Friday, March 13, 2020. It is anticipated that the new board member will be announced at the March 24, 2020, Board of City Commissioners’ meeting.


The Bismarck Parking Authority is a 5-member advisory board appointed by the Bismarck City Commission to provide convenient reasonably priced parking to the residents, clients, customers, merchants, and employees of the Downtown Parking District.  The Bismarck Parking Authority currently manages four ramps and two surface lots.  


The Bismarck Parking Authority meets the second Thursday of every month at 9:00 a.m. in the David J. Blackstead Meeting Room, City-County Building, 221 N 5th Street, Bismarck.
