[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Announces Closure of All Facilities to the Public Beginning Mar. 20

Due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, the Bismarck City Commission has ordered City of Bismarck facilities, including Bismarck City Hall, locked to the public beginning tomorrow March 20-27, and continuing until further notice. Change in status may occur without notice. The Bismarck Airport will maintain operations. The Bismarck Memorial Public Library says, items checked out may appear overdue, but fines will not accrue while the library is closed.

All City departments are fully implementing their continuity of governmental operational plans with department heads reviewing remote and in-person staffing decisions on a daily basis. Essential City services are operating and members of the public are encouraged to reach out to the City by telephone, email or by visiting our website at https://www.bismarcknd.gov/

The City of Bismarck remains open and ready to serve its citizens. We are discouraging any unnecessary in-person visits to Bismarck City facilities and instead suggests use of the City’s website at www.bismarcknd.gov or by making telephone calls. Department phone contact information is located on the web site home page.

Water Utility payments can be made online at by clicking ‘Online Payment’ on the web site home page. There is a drop box a public works where payments can be submitted. We also have a drop box at the City-County Office Building, 221 N 5th St., located on the north side of the building near the intersection of Fifth Street and Thayer Avenue near the north-south alley.

The City is stressing the importance of utilizing reliable sources of news and data, while encouraging area residents to subscribe to the City’s “Notify Me” feature at https://www.bismarcknd.gov/list.aspx.
