[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Fire Department responds to house fire on South 17th St.

At approximately 2:40 PM on Tuesday, April 21st, the Central Dakota Communications Center received a report of structure fire in the attic space of a single family home in the 400 block of South 17th St. The Bismarck Fire Department was dispatched to investigate. The first arriving fire crew reported light smoke showing when they arrived. The fire crew established command and went in to investigate through an open overhead garage door. Fire crews reported the fire had been in the kitchen area but appeared to be out when they arrived. Crews then began work with ventilation of the smoke and checking for fire extension into the attic space. One resident was home at the time of the fire, and verified to fire crews that everyone was out of the home. The fire remains under investigation.

Six fire department apparatus and 15 fire fighters were dispatched to the scene. The Bismarck Police Department assisted with scene control.
