[ARCHIVED] Upcoming Priority Groups Encouraged to Contact BBPH to Set Up Vaccination

x20201223_091721 smBismarck-Burleigh Public Health (BBPH) is encouraging entities under the Phase 1 priority group to reach out for more information about COVID-19 vaccination events. Facilities are asked to complete a short survey located at the BBPH homepage (https://bismarcknd.gov/publichealth). To directly access the survey, visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/D6MGC86

BBPH began distributing the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on December 23 to frontline and healthcare workers. More information about Phase 1 priority groups is available online at https://www.health.nd.gov/sites/www/files/documents/COVID%20Vaccine%20Page/Prioritization_Scheme_Phase1A.pdf

“This vaccination effort is a massive local, regional and national undertaking,” said BBPH Director Renae Moch. “Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health is doing our part to administer COVID-19 vaccines as quickly as possible. As we move through the priority phases and obtain additional vaccine supply, we will continue to offer mass vaccination clinics to protect our community from COVID-19.”

In 2021, BBPH vaccination events are expected to be scheduled on Thursdays at the Bismarck Event Center. A morning event will likely be utilized for individuals who need to receive a second dose of the vaccine, while the afternoon event would be open for individuals seeking their first vaccine dose. Times for these events will be forthcoming, and all events are subject to change. Individuals wanting vaccination will need to preregister through a link that will be shared with their organizations.

On the day of a vaccination event, preregistered individuals who are will enter the vaccination event through Parking Lot D, (the lot south of the Bismarck Event Center, across Bowen Avenue) from Seventh Street. If an individual is not preregistered, they will not be able to receive a vaccine inside the Bismarck Event Center.

All individuals are encouraged to continue practicing universal precautions to keep yourself and those around you as healthy as possible:

  • Avoid large gatherings.
  • Practice physical distancing that keeps you at least six feet from other people who are not in your household.
  • Wear a face covering if social distancing is not possible.
  • Wash your hands with soap often. If soap is not available, use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
  • Monitor your health daily and be alert for COVID-19 symptoms.
