At approximately 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 23, the Central Dakota Communications Center received a report of a fire at a mobile home located on the 600 block of West Sweet Avenue, in the Parkview Mobile Home Park. The Bismarck Fire Department was dispatched to investigate. The first arriving fire crew found the occupants evacuated from the home, with heavy smoke and fire showing from the back of the trailer.
The fire crew established command and deployed hose lines and went inside to attack the fire. Additional fire crews arrived on scene and assisted with fire suppression, securing the water supply, and securing utilities. When the fire was extinguished an overhaul operation was conducted to find any remaining smoldering materials, and the house was ventilated of smoke.
Six fire department apparatus and 17 fire fighters were dispatched to the scene. The Bismarck Police Department assisted with scene control. MDU assisted with securing utilities. Metro Area Ambulance was on scene to provide medical support. The Crisis Care Chaplaincy was called to the scene to provide support. There were no injuries to first responders. The occupants were home at the time of the fire, and were able to evacuate safely with no injuries. The occupants were displaced by the fire.
There was heavy fire and smoke damage throughout the interior of the home. A fire investigation was conducted and the cause of the fire has been classified as undetermined.
