[ARCHIVED] CenCom Observes National Public Safety Telecommunications Week

Each year, public safety organizations nationwide have recognized the critical role played by public safety telecommunicators, the thousands of men and women, who respond to emergency calls, dispatch emergency professionals and equipment, and render life-saving assistance to the world’s citizens.

The Central Dakota Communications Center (CenCom) is celebrating the second full week of April (April 11th – 17th) as National Public Safety Telecommunications Week. This week honors the thousands of men and women who provide the critical link between those in need of help and the help they need.

The CenCom Board, the City of Bismarck, City of Mandan, and Burleigh County have recognized National Public Safety Telecommunications Week in honor of the dedication of CenCom staff.

This year, CenCom will celebrate the week in its new home at 4200 Coleman St, Bismarck. “I’d like to thank the public for their support for allowing us to have this state-of-the-art facility. It is truly a pleasure to come to work and protect our community,” said Deb Anderson, a 19-year veteran of CenCom.

“This facility was completed in partnership with Dakota Carrier Network (DCN). It was planned and designed to serve the community into the future with the ability to accommodate growth in the CenCom coverage area,” said CenCom Director Mike Dannenfelzer. This is the 3rd home for CenCom in 18 years. CenCom went live in the new facility on December 8, 2020.
