At approximately 8:00 PM on Friday, May 14, the Central Dakota Communications Center received a report of a trailer house on fire in the 2500 East Broadway Ave, in Bismarck. The Bismarck Fire Department was dispatched to investigate. The first arriving fire crew arrived on scene to find heavy fire and smoke showing from a single wide trailer house. The occupant had been assisted out of the home by neighbors prior to the arrival of fire crews. The occupant was transported by Metro Area Ambulance.
The fire crew established command, deployed hose lines, and began to suppress the fire from the outside. Additional fire crew arrived on scene and assisted with establishing a water supply, pulling additional hose lines, securing utilities and interior fire attack. When the fire was extinguished an overhaul operation was conducted to find any remaining smoldering materials.
Six fire department apparatus and 18 fire fighters were dispatched to the scene. The Bismarck Police Department assisted with scene control. MDU assisted with securing utilities. Metro Area Ambulance was on scene to provide medical support. The Crisis Care Chaplaincy was called to the scene to provide support. There were no injuries to first responders. The home was occupied at the time of the fire and is a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
