Chief Dave Draovitch would like to announce a team from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc., (CALEA) will be conducting an assessment of the Bismarck Police Department from June 7-9, 2021, to examine all aspects of the department’s policies, procedures, management, operations, and all support services. Due to precautions surrounding COVID-19, this site-based assessment will be conducted virtually.

Verification by the assessment team means the Bismarck Police Department meets the Commission’s standards of professionalism. Being accredited is a voluntary process, but is a valued recognition of the law enforcement agency's level of professional excellence.

As part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to call in and offer comments at the public call in session, Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. by calling 701-355-1943.

The public may also make comments at a public information session. This session is normally held in person, however due to COVID-19 the session will be conducted via Microsoft Teams on Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.:  http://bit.ly/2021BPDPublicComment
