[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Planning and Zoning Commission to hold public hearings

Notice is hereby given that the Bismarck Planning & Zoning Commission will hold public hearings on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. in the Tom Baker Meeting Room, City-County Building, 221 North 5th Street, Bismarck, North Dakota, to consider the following items:

    Request of Boulder Ridge Development and Ron and Ruth Knutson for approval of a zoning change from the R5-Residential and A-Agricultural zoning districts to the Conditional RT-Residential and R5-Residential zoning districts and a major subdivision final plat for Boden Addition, a 46-lot subdivision on 18.4 acres. The property is located in north Bismarck, on the east side of North Washington Street and the south side of East Lasalle Drive (part of the West half of Section 15, T139N-R80W/Hay Creek Township and a replat of Lot 2 and 3, Block 1 and Lot 4, Block 2, Boulder Ridge Fifth Addition).

    Request of Spencer Mewes for approval of a special use permit to increase the total allowable area of accessory buildings to 2,792 square feet on Lot 12, Block 5, Copper Ridge Subdivision. The property is located southeast of Bismarck, south of 62nd Avenue SE in the northeast quadrant of the intersection of Copper Ridge Lane and Kayley Lane (6309 Copper Ridge Lane).

    Request of Luke Leno and Sheila Morris for approval of a special use permit for a child care facility to be located on the East 180 feet of Lot 1, less the North 44 feet, and the East 180 feet of Lots 2-4, possessory interest, Block 2, Airport Road Addition. The property is located in southcentral Bismarck, north of East Bismarck Expressway and west of Airport Road along the west side of South 18th Street (910 South 18th Street).

    Request of the City of Bismarck for approval of a zoning ordinance text amendment relating to floodplain regulations. The proposed amendment would adopt revisions to construction and elevation requirements for accessory structures located within the Special Flood Hazard Area (SHFA) or 100-year floodplain.

At these hearings, the Bismarck Planning & Zoning Commission will provide an opportunity for all interested parties to be heard with respect to these items. The City of Bismarck is encouraging citizens to provide their comments for these items in writing or via email. Interested parties may submit written or email comments regarding these requests at least one business day prior to the meeting to the Community Development Department, PO Box 5503, Bismarck, North Dakota 58506-5503, fax: 701-222-6450, or e-mail. Interested persons may also call 701-355-1840 with questions, for additional information, or to facilitate alternate means to appear at the public hearing without having to appear in person.  

Descriptions of these requests are on file and may be viewed or copied any working day between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the Bismarck Community Development Department, 221 North 5th Street, Bismarck, North Dakota.
