[ARCHIVED] Public Hearing on 2021-2024 TIP Amendments

The Bismarck-Mandan Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is proposing two amendments to the 2021-2024 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The public has until 4pm on September 17, 2021 to comment on the proposed amendments. Furthermore, the MPO will holding a public hearing on the TIP amendments at 10am on September 20, 2021 in conjunction with the MPO Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting. The TAC meeting will be held in the Tom Baker Meeting Room of the City/County Office Building at 221 N. 5th Street, Bismarck, ND. If you would like to participate via video or audio link for a 3-5 minute comment on the draft 2022-2025 TIP, please provide your e-mail address and contact information to mpo@bismarcknd.gov at least one (1) business day before the meeting.   

The purpose of the public hearing is to provide an opportunity for public involvement in the review of proposed amendments to the 2021-2024 TIP. The TIP includes federally funded metropolitan area transportation projects over a four-year time frame. The proposed amendments are for scope and cost changes on a Bismarck-Mandan Memorial Bridge project, and a change in funding year for two signal work projects, one on 7th Street and one on 9th Street in Bismarck, from 2022 to 2021. The public is further notified that the proposed amendments will be available for citizens to review at the Bismarck Community Development Office, 221 North 5th Street, Bismarck, North Dakota, beginning Thursday, September 2, 2021. Following the consideration period of citizen’s comments, the proposed amendments will be presented to the MPO Policy Board for possible adoption as part of the 2021-2024 TIP, contingent upon no substantive change required due to public comments. 

The public is invited to attend the public hearing, or submit written comments directed to Rachel Drewlow of the MPO no later than 4pm Friday, September 17, 2021 to P.O. Box 5503, Bismarck, ND, 58506. Written comments may also be e-mailed to rdrewlow@bismarcknd.gov or faxed to (701) 222-6450.  Comments which are e-mailed or faxed should be specifically identified as public input on the proposed changes to the 2021-2024 TIP.
