[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Fire Department Responds to Trailer Home Fire

BISMARCK, ND – At approximately 7:20 PM on Wednesday, October 13, the Central Dakota Communications Center received a report of light smoke coming from a window of a trailer home on the 700 block of South 12th Street. The Bismarck Fire Department was dispatched to investigate.  The first responding fire crew arrived on scene to find a single wide trailer home with smoke showing and nobody outside.

The fire crew conducted a scene size up and found light smoke coming from an open window.  The fire crew pulled a hose line and entered the house. The fire was found quickly and extinguished. A primary and secondary search of the home confirmed that it was unoccupied. Once the home was ventilated of smoke, an overhaul was conducted to find and extinguish any hidden smoldering materials.

Six fire department apparatus and 17 firefighters were dispatched to the scene. Metro Area Ambulance Service was on scene to provide medical support.  The Bismarck Police Department provided scene control. There were no injuries to first responders. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
