[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Fire Department responds to fire in twin home

Bismarck, ND – At approximately 2:44 AM on Wednesday December 22nd, the Central Dakota Communications Center received a report of a structure fire in the 200 block of Aspen Ave. in Bismarck. The Bismarck Fire Department was dispatched to investigate. The first arriving fire crew arrived on scene to find heavy smoke showing from the front door of the twin home. All occupants from both sides of the home had evacuated.   

 

The fire crew established command, deployed hose lines, and began a fire attack.  Additional fire crews arrived on scene and assisted with establishing a water supply, pulling additional hose lines, and fire attack. When the fire was extinguished, an overhaul operation was conducted to find any remaining smoldering materials.

 

Seven fire department apparatus and 23 fire fighters were dispatched to the scene.  The Bismarck Police Department assisted with scene control.   Metro Area Ambulance was on scene to provide medical support.  Two occupants were transported to the hospital and treated for injuries.  One half of the twin home suffered significant damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
