Join the Martin Luther King Holiday Commission, Bismarck Human Relations Committee and others for a celebration honoring the dream and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. on January 17, 2022 at 7pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 N 4th St., Bismarck, ND.
Guest Speakers include: Ricardo Pierre-Louis (Haitian Past Soccer Star and Author of Hunger for Hope) and Representative Ruth Buffalo.
A reception and refreshments will follow the program.
The Martin Luther King Holiday Commission was appointed by Governor George Sinner in 1985 following the adoption of the Holiday by the 1985 legislature.
The first statewide celebration was hosted by the Commission at the Heritage Center in January of 1986. During the Governor Edward Shafer administration, the Commission incorporated as a 501 (c) 3 non- profit corporation.
The Commission currently has 9 directors, all volunteers, who organize these annual celebrations.
