City of Bismarck Public Works Service Operations has finished its initial snow-plowing efforts on all city streets. Crews have started clearing snow in the downtown area and widening the snow emergency routes.
“We are also going back through the residential neighborhoods to widen those roadways,” said Public Works Service Operations Director Steve Salwei. “Along with that process, we’ll be cleaning and widening driveway entrances and cleaning around cluster mailboxes.”
Bismarck residents are reminded they are responsible for cleaning around individual mailboxes. It is illegal to shovel or blow snow into the street.
“We are appreciative of everyone’s patience as our crews have moved snow and opened up routes throughout Bismarck,” said Salwei. “The storm created a lot of snow, and it is taking longer than a more normal snow event.”
