The City of Bismarck, along with Apex Engineering and Bolton & Menk, is conducting a public input meeting to discuss proposed improvements to S Washington St. from Burleigh Ave. to the South Bismarck Drainage Ditch and Burleigh Ave. from Manchester St. to Boston Dr.
Proposed project improvements include mobility and safety improvements for vehicles, bicycles and pedestrian traffic, as well as street lighting and stormwater improvements. The Washington St. alternatives under consideration include three- or five-lane corridors, with intersection traffic control of either a roundabout or traffic signal at Burleigh Ave. and a traffic signal or stop control at London Ave/Santa Fe Ave. This project is anticipated to begin construction in 2024.
“In recent years, the increasing development in this area has accelerated the need for roadway and pedestrian improvements along Washington St. and Burleigh Ave.,” said City of Bismarck Engineer Gabe Schell. “Bismarck continues to grow at a steady rate and this project will help accommodate the growth in that area today, and into the future.”
The input meeting will be held Tuesday, April 18, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the Wachter Middle School (1107 South Seventh Street) Cafetorium. The meeting will have an open house component that begins at 5:30 PM with a presentation to start at 6 PM. Representatives from the City of Bismarck, Apex Engineering and Bolton & Menk will be available to answer questions and discuss any concerns.
Written statements or comments about the project must be postmarked or emailed by May 3, 2023, to Troy Ripplinger, Apex Engineering Group. Please note “Public Input Meeting – PCN 23859” in the letter heading or email subject line:
