“The Big Game” Sticker Shock Project
BISMARCK, ND — For this upcoming weekend, Burleigh Morton Behavioral Health Coalition Student Committee and multiple Bismarck pizza establishments are partnering together for the Sticker Shock Project, to educate adults on consequences for providing alcohol to minors.
The Sticker Shock Project is a public awareness campaign that takes a stand against underage drinking by having Pizza Establishments place stickers with their pizza. The stickers have messages aimed at adults regarding underage drinking laws, consequences for providing alcohol to minors, and reminders to store alcohol properly in your home. Providing alcohol to a minor may result in fines up to $3,000 and 365 days in jail.
Bismarck consistently ranks at or above the state averages when it comes to underage drinking. According to the 2023 ND Youth Risk Behavior Survey, 25% of Bismarck-Mandan High School Students currently drank alcohol in the past 30 days compared to 20% of ND High School Students. “Underage drinking is a community concern and the
most effective way to address it is through community involvement and participations,” said Madison Peterson, SAP Specialist with BBPH.
Thank you to all of our participating partners; A&B Pizza, Blaze Bruno’s, CraftCade, Domino’s North, Domino’s South, Nardello’s, and Pizza Ranch.
