BISMARCK, ND—The Bismarck Fire Department extinguished a structure fire at a home in West Central Bismarck last night.
At approximately 11:38 PM on Wednesday, February 4th, 2026, the Bismarck Fire Department received a call for a fire in a single-family home on the 400 block of West Avenue C. Bismarck Fire crews were dispatched to the scene.
Firefighters arrived on the scene at approximately 11:42 PM to find smoke coming from the front door and eaves of the residence. Fire crews quickly located and extinguished a fire in the kitchen area, which had extended from the basement laundry room. A primary search of the residence was conducted to check for occupants. An overhaul was conducted to locate and extinguish any hidden fire.
One occupant sustained an injury, and no firefighters were injured. Four dogs were rescued from the fire, and two cats were found deceased. A fire investigation was conducted, and the cause of this fire was found to be accidental.
