In North Dakota, victims of crime have the right to be informed about key events in the criminal justice process. Victim notification services are designed to keep victims and their families updated on the status of offenders, court proceedings, and custody changes, empowering them to make informed decisions about their safety and well-being.

This service allows crime victims to obtain timely and reliable information about criminal cases and the custody status of offenders 24 hours a day. Victims and other concerned citizens can also register to be notified by phone, email, text message (SMS) or TTY device when an offender's custody status changes. Users can also register through their participating state or county toll-free number.
