Advisory Boards

The Planning Division provides staff support to the following boards, commissions, and authorities:

Planning and Zoning Commission LogoPlanning and Zoning Commission. An advisory board that oversees planning and zoning requests and amendments for the City of Bismarck and the extraterritorial area. 

Board of Adjustment LogoBoard of Adjustment. An advisory board that oversees variances from zoning and appeals of administrative actions.

Renaissance Zone Authority LogoRenaissance Zone Authority. An advisory board that oversees Renaissance Zone projects and downtown design review. Design Advisors serve this board as well.
Historic Preservation Commission LogoHistoric Preservation Commission. An advisory board that oversees historic preservation activities in the City of Bismarck.
Parking Authority LogoParking Authority An advisory board that oversees management of municipal parking facilities
ComDev Advisory CouncilCommunity Development Advisory Committee (CDAC). An advisory board that makes recommendations on recommendations on application requests for federal grant funds for housing and community development and related plans.

Would you like to serve?

Terms on all boards in the City of Bismarck begin in January and continue through each calendar year. Applications are solicited for open positions in November and appointed by City Commission in December. An application may be submitted for a board appointment at any time.
