Renaissance Zone Authority

The Renaissance Zone Authority is a 9-member advisory board that oversees requests for designation as a Renaissance Zone project and amendments to the Renaissance Zone Development Plan. The Renaissance Zone Authority also provides guidance on Downtown Design Review and other activities impacting the core of the community.

The The Renaissance Zone Authority consists of nine members; one member of the Bismarck City Commission; one Burleigh County Commissioner; one Bismarck Public School Board member; one Bismarck Park Board member; and five at-large members appointed by the Bismarck City Commission. The Renaissance Zone Authority appoints non-voting Design Advisors.

Terms on the Renaissance Zone Authority begin in January and continue through each calendar year. Applications are solicited for open positions in November and appointed by City Commission in December. An application may be submitted for a board appointment at any time.
