Environmental Health

Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health’s Environmental Health Division works to safeguard community health by addressing how our surroundings affect our well-being—at home, at work, and in public spaces.

Tick Safety

During the summer, ticks can be a nuisance at best, and a health hazard at worst. Ticks are primarily active during warm-weather months (April through September). For more information visit the North Dakota Department of Health page on Tickborne Disease. Follow guidance from your local or state health department to prevent tick bites.
