Field Services

The Field Services Division of the Bismarck Police Department is responsible for core law enforcement operations, including patrol, traffic enforcement, and criminal investigations. It oversees animal control, parking enforcement, and the execution of warrants, while also managing gaming compliance. The division includes specialized units such as the Narcotics Unit and various specialized teams that support critical incidents and targeted enforcement

Support Services

The Support Services Division of the Bismarck Police Department provides essential administrative and operational support to enhance overall agency effectiveness. It oversees crime prevention and community engagement, CALEA accreditation, and records management. The division manages the department’s budget, grants, and intelligence-led policing initiatives, while also coordinating training, recruitment, and professional standards. Additional responsibilities include evidence management, facility oversight, the Police Youth Bureau, and handling media and public information.
